"The Day My Guitar Fell In Love" (by Lindsey K and Jess S)

One of the few songs I've ever seen through to completion with both words and music - with (like all three songs this has ever happened with) our Linds. Copyright us!

"Free!"

Written @ 11.30pm whilst listening to 'Genesis Live' - my Dad's first DVD. Had a sudden urge of creativeness; too late to play; too late to read; pen and paper handy - voilĂ !

FREE!

Doo-doo-doo
Doodles of the mind
Harmonies ringin'
Singin'          as it comes
Inspiration at its best
Doesn't have to make no sense
Scat-diddly-at
They know where it's situated
Blow away your thoughts
It's comin' from the heart
Let yourself go - where? I don't know
An opening door
To who you really are
The nonsensical ravings of a mind set free,
Memories, 'would-be's, things a-happenin' now
Word's of your own (in Shakespeare's tone)
No time to rhyme.
Fill in the Gaps
Ha-ha HAAAA!
Be free, Be yourself
Music is the key

Anti-Litter Song

This is a song that I wrote a chorus and few verses of and then lost :( But the premise is that having become more and more tolerant and more and more open-minded as I grow up (which is no bad thing), and as you realise how subjective things such as right and wrong are and how incredibly complex most polemic topics are, there's only really one thing left in life (or there was at the time I wrote this) that I can feel completely justified about getting angry over - and that's litter.

Of course I then grew up some more and realised how much discrimination still exists in the world (see http://femmesavecfaim.blogspot.co.uk/ for an example of my thoughts on this). But I still think the anti-littering makes a good premise for a song!

Some things I think some of the verses were about...

  • Vegetarianism for sustainability - but I still eat cheese (it's better than morals)
  • Saving energy - but I still want a cup of tea
  • Sticking it to the man - but I still enjoy marmite and Star Wars

"Information Encore" (song title)

Sitting in the Art House with Pauly K having a very edifying conversation (including being taught the following fact) the phrase 'information encore' arose and I decided it should be a song. An educational song full of interesting facts. So far I have a format for the chorus but that's as far as I've got...

[some sort of fact ending in a words that rhymes with 'bats' e.g.  a fact about cats - different fact for each time chorus is sung]
And half of all the world's mammals
Are bats

Some Terribly British Words

I quite like songs with words in that you can't imagine anyone but a British person singing. Here are some words/phrases I would like to get into songs!

Wither
Dither
Hither and thither
(there's a pattern emerging here...)

If it's not too much trouble
